Ghandruk trek is one of the shortest yet fulfilling trekking adventures in the Annapurna region. The trek’s primary destination is Ghandruk, a large ethnic settlement inhabited by the Gurung community. Notably, the hike comprises an easy path through forests of pine, oak, sandalwood, and rhododendron.
Situated at an altitude of 2012 meters, Ghandruk offers stunning views of the Annapurnas along with Machapuchre, Gangapurna, and Hiunchuli peaks. It is a relatively easy trek where there is no risk of altitude sickness. While in Ghandruk, trekkers can explore the local culture, food, traditions and also visit the Gurung museum as well as monasteries.

Itinerary
We will begin our Ghandruk trek by first taking a scenic drive to Phedi, where we commence our hiking. Our path will ascend among forests of rhododendron, pine, and oak before we reach the beautiful village of Dhampus. Notably, the settlement itself offers some great views of mountains such as the Annapurna Massif and Lamjung Himal. We continue ascending along a stone-paved path to reach the small village called Pothana. We will spend our first night in Pothana.
The next day, our trail will begin by a gradual ascent for an hour, whereby we will reach the place called Deurali. From there, it is primarily a steep trek downwards before we reach the ethnic village of Tolkha. Our next milestone would be the village of Landruk, which is also an ethnic Gurung village. Following a descent towards the valley, we will cross a bridge and climb uphill. After a few hours of hike, we will reach Ghandruk, which sits at a pristine location offering panoramic views of the Himalayas. Ghandruk village has plenty to offer, including a Gurung museum, local culture, and food. We will spend the night in Ghandruk.
After having our breakfast in Ghandruk, we will mostly descend downhill while passing rice fields and small villages. We will first arrive at the Kimche-Syauli bazaar and then continue on the trail to reach Nayapul. From Nayapul, we will take a drive back to Pokhara while passing through the picturesque countryside.
